Denver natives Lindsey Horan and Mallory Pugh have shared big dreams since they were youngsters playing for their respective hometown Colorado Rush and Real Colorado soccer clubs. They both dreamt of joining the U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams, rising through the ranks, making the senior U.S. Women’s National Team roster, and representing their home state and nation in a Women’s World Cup Tournament. When the final whistle blew on Sunday night in Frisco, these one-in-a-million kid fantasies all aligned, and their dreams became a reality.
The USWNT put on another formidable display of offense and defense before a small but patriotic crowd in Toyota Soccer Stadium, dominating Jamaica in the Concacaf Women’s Championship semifinals with a final score of 6-nil.
