The Colorado Rapids announced today that 23-year-old winger Jonathan Lewis has signed a contract extension through 2024. In the club press release, General Manager and Executive VP Padraig Smith commented, “Johnny showed he is a dangerous attacker as our joint leading scorer this past season. He has an incredibly bright future ahead of him and we’re thrilled that it will be in Burgundy.”
Lewis joined the Rapids from NYCFC at the spring trade deadline in 2019 for $650,000 of Targeted Allocation Money, and scored five goals and added three assists for Colorado that season.
