Colorado Rapids announced today that the club has waived midfielder Emmanuel Appiah and goalkeeper Chris Froschauer.
Appiah, 22, was acquired by the Rapids in the first round (15th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft after spending the past five years at the University of Cincinnati. On March 18, he was loaned to the Rapids’ USL affiliate, Charlotte Independence. While with the USL side, Appiah appeared in two matches before rejoining the Rapids during the break for Copa America Centenario.
Froschauer, 22, was acquired by the Rapids in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft out of the Ohio State University.
