April 21, 1996: Colorado Rapids 3-1 Dallas Burn - Mile High Stadium
This was the first-ever meeting with Dallas, in what was the Rapids’ first-ever home game in the newly-launched MLS. Eight days earlier, Colorado had fallen 3-0 at Kansas City Wiz in their opener. Marcelo Balboa, making his MLS debut, netted twice, either side of a goal from South Africa international Shaun Bartlett. The Dallas consolation came from John Kerr.
October 15, 1997: Colorado Rapids 2-1 Dallas Burn - Mile High Stadium
A goal from Sean Henderson three days earlier at the Cotton Bowl had handed the Rapids a 1-0 lead to take into the return leg of the Western Conference Championship game.
