COMMERCE CITY — The Colorado Rapids are close to claiming the worst start to a season in MLS history.
That mark is owned — for now — by the 2007 edition of Real Salt Lake, which did not win a game until try No. 12. As the two face off in the first leg of the 2019 Rocky Mountain Cup on Saturday, RSL can make sure their rival Rapids at least tie their shameful record.
The two clubs will meet for the 43rd time with RSL owning a 19–11–13 advantage. The Rapids have lost the last three series with Salt Lake, though they came close to a win in 2018 as super sub Dillon Serna equalized the second leg at 2-2 capping a furious comeback for Colorado.
