Colorado Rapids Trade Kei Kamara to Minnesota United FC for $150,000 in GAM

The Colorado Rapids have traded forward Kei Kamara to Minnesota United FC in exchange for $150,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money (GAM) and a second-round pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, the club announced today.

Kamara departs the Rapids in the midst of his final season with the club after Colorado acquired his rights from FC Cincinnati following the 2018 MLS Expansion Draft. The 36-year-old forward appeared in 38 matches for the Rapids, scoring 17 goals and assisting two.

“The Rapids would like to thank Kei for his contributions to the club and wish him all the best in the next step of his career,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager.
