COMMERCE CITY — When their left back wasn’t failing them, their center back was. The Colorado Rapids’ backline had a horrid start to the season with only one game of solid performance. That changed when Conor Casey took over as interim head coach.
In their last seven games, the club is unbeaten, their defense though has been sparkling. Tallying three clean sheets and allowing just six goals over the past seven matches, the Rapids have formed one of the best defenses in the league the past two months.
There was a talent issue as they missed one player to hold down the whole defense, but they filled that weakness with Lalas Abubakar.
