Colorado Rapids announced today that the club has signed 2016 MLS SuperDraft selection Emmanuel Appiah (15th overall) out of the University of Cincinnati.
“Emmanuel has impressed in preseason and earned the chance to take his first steps in the professional game,” said Paul Bravo, Technical Director and VP of Soccer Operations.
Appiah, 22, spent the past five years at the University of Cincinnati. The 5' 9" midfielder earned Second Team All-American Athletic Conference and Second Team All-Ohio accolades after finishing second on the team in points (16), goals (five) and assists (six) in 2015. As a Bearcat, Appiah appeared in 65 matches (46 starts), netting seven goals and adding 11 assists.
