The Colorado Rapids on Wednesday loaned midfielder Michael Azira to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the United Soccer League.
The Rapids retain the right to recall Azira any time during the rest of the MLS regular season.
Azira, 30, has appeared in five games this year, starting in three. He was a mainstay starter for the team the last two seasons, recording three assists in 61 games (56 starts).
It wasn’t Colorado’s only move of the day. The Rapids returned a 2018 international roster spot to Minnesota United in exchange for $50,000 in general allocation money.
