COMMERCE CITY — The Colorado Rapids have higher hopes than winning games and aiming for an MLS Cup. The organization’s ambitions lie in one long-term goal: grow the sport of soccer in Colorado.
Robin Fraser, their freshly minted head coach introduced Tuesday, has been a grassroots leader of Denver’s soccer community in the past. A member of the Colorado Foxes and later the Rapids, the 52-year-old considers himself a Coloradan.
“This is the first place I’ve ever lived outside of Miami,” said the Jamaican-born Fraser, who was most recently an assistant coach for Toronto F.
