FULLERTON, Calif. — In the span of one year, the Colorado Rapids went from having the worst offense in MLS in 2018, to the third-best attacking group in the league last season.
Now, after allowing the third-most goals (63) in MLS in 2019, it’s the defense’s turn to make a leap.
Utilizing every outlet possible to overhaul their backline this winter — two trades, a free-agent signing and two draft picks — the Rapids hope new head coach Robin Fraser has all the tools he needs to spark a turnaround.
“He’s done incredible coaching over the years,” said Fox Sports analyst Alexi Lalas, a former USMNT teammate of Fraser’s.
