The Colorado Rapids and Special Olympics Colorado will kick off their fifth consecutive year together when the Rapids’ Unified Team faces off with the Philadelphia Union Unified Team on May 28 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
“We are very excited to continue our partnership with Special Olympics Colorado for a fifth consecutive year,” says Colorado Rapids President Tim Hinchey. “It has been a joy watching these amazing athletes for the last few years and as always, we are extremely proud to have them represent our Rapids colors for yet another season."
The unified team, which is comprised of players both with and without intellectual disabilities between the ages of 16 and 25, has received training from the Colorado Rapid’s players and coaches.
