The Colorado Rapids Soccer Club are making moves this month to bolster their attack and on Tuesday acquired another proven MLS striker, Diego Rubio from Sporting Kansas City.
The Rapids announced Rubio was acquired from Sporting KC in exchange for Kelyn Rowe plus $300,000 in allocation money. Rowe, had only been acquired earlier in the day from New England Revolution in a deal that sent Edgar Castillo to the Revs.
In the end, Rubio became the third attacking player added to the club since the 2018 season ended, one in which Colorado finished 18-19-7 with 31 points on the year and 11th in the Western Conference.
