Pádraig Smith promised that things were going to change in the off-season, and while we’re still waiting to hear about the new head coach, the Colorado Rapids have chosen not to renew Claudio Lopez’s contract. Lopez became the Colorado Rapids’ Director of Soccer in 2014 after being a part of the Rapids team that won the MLS Cup in 2010. The Argentinian had a very successful career as a player, including winning a silver medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics with his country’s U-23 squad and two World Cups (1998 and 2002).
