Charlotte fights back to top Harrisburg 2–1 in the team’s first win of the 2016 USL season

In the club’s second game of the season, the Charlotte Independence bounced back to a 2–1 win over the Harrisburg City Islanders after two goals from Caleb Calvert and David Estrada lifted the team following an early deficit.

In only the third minute of the match, Harrisburg forward Craig Foster won the ball from his defender, finding enough space inside the box to launch a right-footed strike that found its way into the back of the net, giving the City Islanders an early 1–0 lead.

In an effort to win back momentum, Charlotte continued to press, with Brain Brown and Jorge Herrera both looking for opportunities to level the match early on to no avail.
