Backpass: Is there a path to pro women’s soccer in Colorado?

With overpowering skill and ability, with swagger and charisma, and with more than a little controversy, the US Women’s National Team brought a fourth World Cup trophy home from France. Each game was a more dominant performance than the last. And America was watching, as more than 15.6 million people tuned in to see the final episode of a binge-worthy mini-series starring Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavelle and Alex Morgan.

The match demonstrated, once again, that there is an American appetite for soccer, and specifically, women’s soccer. Colorado has demonstrated robust support for the women’s game, too, as the USWNT has sold out the last three matches they played at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
