It just so happened that a 22-year old scored a goal 23 years in the making.
In the 66th minute of the 2018 Season Opener against New England Revolution Saturday night at Gillette Stadium, rookie forward Niki Jackson’s name went into the Rapids’ history books. It wasn't because he scored just one minute in to his MLS debut, or that his first touch of the ball resulted in his first career goal. His name will be remembered first and foremost on this occasion because the goal was the 900th all-time in MLS play for the Colorado Rapids.
