The University of Colorado women's soccer team's run of defensive shutouts ended Sunday afternoon, but the Buffaloes' unbeaten streak lives on.
CU scored early and shifted into cruise control from there, beating visiting Iowa State 3-1 at Prentup Field.
The Buffs improved to 4-0-1 this season, while the Cyclones fell to 1-4-1.
Taylor Kornieck got the Buffs on the scoreboard in the fourth minute with a volley off a free kick by Kelsey Aaknes. Kornieck received the long ball in the box, tapped it up in the air, and blasted it through the hands of goalkeeper Dayja Schwichtenberg.
