BOULDER — After a strong week of competition, the Colorado women’s cross country team remained the top team in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, while the CU men dropped three spots to seventh.

The varsity women’s team won the Joe Piane Invitational last Friday in South Bend, Ind., besting then-No. 3 New Mexico by four points (47-51). The men’s team was second at the Joe Piane Invite, finishing behind then-No. 13 Southern Utah (72-101). Both of CU’s emerging varsity teams captured the team titles at the Rocky Mountain Shootout on Saturday.

CU’s women recorded 358 points with 10 of the 12 first-place votes.
