SAN FRANCISCO—Colorado thrower Matt Ward picked up his first Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor the conference announced on Tuesday.
The honor is the first for a CU male field athlete since Alexandre Kizirian (Apr. 29, 2014) and marks just the second-ever weekly award for a CU male field athlete since joining the conference in 2011-12.
Ward, a mid-semester transfer from Montana, has set the school record in the hammer throw three times this season, including twice last weekend. He opened the weekend with a winning throw of 65.
