AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. —University of Colorado senior Abrianna Torres won her second pentathlon of the season on Thursday at the Air Force Invitational, scoring 3,794 points.
Torres started the day off by winning the 60-meter hurdles in 9.03 seconds. She went on to tie for third in the high jump, clearing 5-4.50. Through those two events, Torres was second by just two points (1689-1687) to BYU’s Erin Merkley BYU, but she over took Merkley after the third event, the shot put, when she launched a throw of 43-5.25, while Merkley earned a mark of 31-11.
