BOULDER – University of Colorado track and field team finished their first day of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with three women earning All-America honors and one advancing to the finals in her event.
The afternoon began with Valerie Constien running the semifinals in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Val finished in sixth place and crossed the finish line in 9:50.98. Constien's finish advanced her to the finals that will take place on Saturday afternoon.
"Started the day with Val Constien in the women's steeplechase looking very controlled and running smart, sub-maximal, I hope, race advancing to the finals day after tomorrow," CU head coach Mark Wetmore said.
