BOULDER - The Buffs are now accepting applications to become a Ralphie Handler for the 2016-17 football season.
The buffalo mascot is a lasting tradition in Boulder, dating back the 1934 contest to select an official school nickname by the Silver & Gold newspaper, and Ralphie arrived in 1966. Since her debut on October 28, 1967, the pregame charging buffalo tradition has persisted as one of the greatest college football traditions in the nation.
Applicants must be a full-time CU student with at least one fall semester remaining prior to graduation in order to participate in the tryout process, held in conjunction with the spring football game.
