Colorado quarterback Steven Montez has a habit of looking great in practice, only to stub his toe a bit in front of fans during open scrimmages.
On Saturday, the junior had the best open scrimmage of his career, looking sharp during his time on the Folsom Field turf. It was the final tune-up for the Buffs in front of fans and media before the Aug. 31 opener against Colorado State.
"Steven in the past has struggled in scrimmages, so it was exciting to see him come out and operate at a high level," co-offensive coordinator Darrin Chiaverini said.
