Riley Kinney faked left, dove right and ran untouched 25 yards for a touchdown on the day’s first snap.
Two plays later, the ball back in Loveland’s hands, Kinney faked left, dove middle and his 6-foot-4 frame high-stepped 17 yards for another score, glancing toward the sideline where a trio of Colorado State coaches stood, as if to ask, “Are you not entertained?!”
And so the 4A state championship game went for Loveland’s senior quarterback. Run left, score. Run right, score. Blast it up the gut, score, score, score.
Five rushing touchdowns for Kinney in his final high school game Saturday at Mile High, a 62-14 thrashing of Skyline to complete an undefeated season.
