BOULDER — Colorado coach Tad Boyle said earlier this week that his team needed some “quality wins” down the stretch of the Pac-12 season.
Mission accomplished. Led by 26 points and nine rebounds from senior Josh Scott, the Buffs delivered a 75-72 win over No. 9 Arizona before a sold-out Coors Events Center crowd of 11,309.
The win, played in front of the third-largest crowd in CU history, was the Buffs’ first over a ranked team in their last 12 tries and no doubt added a huge boost to their NCAA Tournament resume. CU improved to 20-9 overall and 9-7 in the Pac-12 while Arizona dropped to 22-6, 10-5.
