BOULDER – Junior Tabor Scholl took command in the women's elite mile race Friday evening for the University of Colorado, winning the first running event at the CU Invitational in a time of 4:41.85.
The elite mile races occurred Friday evening in a packed Indoor Practice Facility and displayed 15 of the best athletes entered in both genders. Scholl was paced strongly until 450 meters were remaining when she began to push ahead of the small lead pack and to the victory. The junior won the race by nearly five seconds, outpacing Sarah Feeny of Utah and Roisin Flanagan of Adams State who finished just under 4:47.
