DENVER – University of Colorado sophomore Hailey Schalk (Erie, Colo.) recorded the highest finish by a current and former Buffalo at the 2021 COBank Colorado Women's Open, tying for 10th on Friday with a 1-under 213.
Schalk, who finished her freshman season with the Buffs in May, also recorded the low amateur score. Two years ago her former CU teammate, Kirsty Hodgkins, won the honor at the same event.
"It's very special to win low amateur especially against such a strong field," she said. "My goal was to make the cut this week and I exceeded my expectations which always feels great!
