PALM DESERT, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team lost in the championship final in Wyoming's World Match Play here Saturday to the University of San Diego in a match that wasn't decided until the final putts.
The Toreros edged the Buffaloes, 3½- 2½, as USD won three matches and CU two, with the sixth a draw. San Diego, the No. 2 seed here, won 31 holes, Colorado (the top seed) 30 with 44 tied among the dozen competitors on the 7,305-yard, par-72 Classic Club Course.
"It was a great, very competitive match today," CU head coach Roy Edwards said.
