According to multiple reports, the Colorado football team is close to hiring Boise State's Ashley Ambrose as a defensive backs coach.
CU has not confirmed the hire, but ESPN and the Idaho Statesman both reported Wednesday that Ambrose is leaving Boise State for Boulder. He previously worked at CU from 2008-10.
A former All-Pro who played 13 years in the NFL, Ambrose has spent the past two seasons coaching defensive backs at Boise State.
In his two seasons at Boise State, Ambrose has coached four different defensive backs to either first- or second-team All-Mountain West honors.
