As regular readers of this space undoubtedly are aware, the Hotline has taken issue with the Pac-12 football schedule a time or two — or two dozen — in the past.
We aren’t suggesting that the conference grease the path for a particular team(s).
Instead, the focus should be on egregious instances in which teams are placed at competitive disadvantages.
That was the case, obviously, with Saturday road games followed by Friday road games. Fortunately, those ghastly back-to-backs have been removed from the schedule model.
But issues remain, in our humble opinion.
One is tasking teams with difficult conference assignments the week after an A-list non-conference game.
