Ormeño Ruiz Wins In CU's Loss at Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. - Colorado's tennis team suffered its second straight loss on Sunday, losing 6-1 at Washington State in Pullman, Wash. CU fell to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the Pac-12, while WSU improved to 16-4 and 2-3 in Pac-12 play.

"Washington State is a good team, always a never-say-die team," head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "They do a great job of fighting right until the end. Today we had a few players dealing with some personal adversity. A couple of them did a great job of overcoming that and fighting really hard. We've got to keep working on closing and working on our basics and doing what we do well, and converting on our opportunities.
