LOS ANGELES — For one play on Saturday, Laviska Shenault was dazzling, sprinting past the Southern California defense for a 49-yard touchdown.
That was one of the few highlights for Shenault and the 19th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes, however.
Facing their toughest test of the season, the Buffaloes (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) failed in a 31-20 loss to USC at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
The Buffs were not only beaten, but battered, as Shenault finished the game on the sidelines with an apparent foot injury, senior receiver Jay MacIntyre left the game with a first-half concussion and senior defensive tackle Jase Franke went out with a knee injury.
