BOULDER – Kennedy Leonard scored a career-high 31 points on Thursday night to propel the No. 18 Colorado women's basketball team to a 74-56 rout of in-state rival Colorado State at the Coors Events Center.
Leonard, a sophomore guard from Southlake, Texas, got 19 of her total in the first half – including 13 in the first quarter – to help the Buffs (9-0) take control and put away the Rams (5-4).
Her seven 3-pointers (11 attempts) tied a school record (eighth time) and were the most by a CU player since Bianca Smith hit seven on Jan.
