As titles go, this one had been in the works for months. But that didn’t stop Darrin Chiaverini from smiling last Friday when CU Buffs coach Mel Tucker rang him up to make it official.
“I think obviously, it just shows that Coach Tucker respects me and what I’ve done for the program and in the past and what (we’re) going to get done in the future,” Chiaverini told The Denver Post on Wednesday shortly after Tucker announced at Pac-12 Media Day that the CU assistant and former Buffs receiver had been promoted to assistant head coach.
