The kid’s built like a power forward and closes like a tiger shark. Kain Medrano is 6-foot-4, a classic long-strider with speed to burn, all shoulders and a vapor trail, the kind of boundary hammer Pac-12 football coaches dream about.
Medrano holds state championship honors in discus and the shot put. He grew up in Pueblo rooting for the Colorado Buffaloes as early as he could hold a pigskin. Which begs the question: How come he’s going to play college football at UCLA?
“I’m not here to bad-talk CU,” the former Pueblo East wide receiver/safety says, “but I just think that sometimes they don’t believe in Colorado kids.
