A week ago, Colorado men's basketball coach Tad Boyle expressed hope that his team would have injured forward Lucas Siewert back in time for the Buffaloes' rivalry battle at Colorado State.
With three days to go before the Buffs visit Moby Arena, that hope is looking a little overly optimistic.
Siewert, who suffered a sprained right ankle against Drake on Nov. 18, attempted to return to practice Wednesday but was only a limited participant.
"He tried to go today and was wincing a little bit in pain," Boyle said. "He's still not ready to go. When a guy winces I'm not going to play him.
