When Todd Peterman looked into the stands at DeSoto High School during a practice last spring, he saw about 200 college football head coaches and assistants from across the country who had flocked to the Texas prep power outside Dallas to evaluate players.
The coaches watched a group who last fall would go 16-0 and win the Texas Class 6A state championship, the largest classification in a football-crazy state. Nine players from that team are expected to sign national letters of intent Wednesday with FBS programs, with many others heading to FCS or Division II programs.
Battling with all those schools was Colorado, and its recruiting coordinator, Darrin Chiaverini.
