BOULDER—Senior Nate Landman is one of 51 players nationally on the watch list for the Dick Butkus Award, the Butkus Foundation announced Monday. The award is given to the nation's top linebacker.
Landman, who was on the watch list last season for the Butkus Award, becomes just the second CU player to hit the watch list twice, joining Jordon Dizon from 2006-07. Landman is looking to become the third Buff to win the award, alongside Alfred Williams in 1990 and Matt Russell in 1996. Ted Johnson (1994) and Dizon (2007) were runners-up for the award.
Last week Landman was also named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list, given to the nation's top defensive player.
