BOULDER —
Colorado needed someone to break the rules.
In their game against Washington State late Thursday night, the Buffs had their backs against the wall. Their top player, Josh Scott, was on the bench with an injury. And a team that had earned only one Pac-12 victory all season was about to deal a crippling blow to the Buffaloes' NCAA Tournament dreams.
That's when the rule-breaking comes in. George King bucked the team commandment that says a non-point guard collecting a rebound must outlet that ball to said point guard.
With eight seconds left and CU down three points, King went rogue.
