BOULDER – The University of Colorado track and field program concluded the 2019 Colorado Invitational in spectacular fashion with a nation-leading time Saturday at Potts Field.
Joe Klecker went out in a stacked field and let the pacer work through the race with a runner from Adams State University, but once the bell rung for the final lap Klecker was in a league of his own. The junior dropped a 58.46 final lap to cross the line in 3:45.11, more than two seconds from the ASU runner in second and three seconds on the rest of the field.
