BOULDER - Cross country's Joe Klecker and soccer's Taylor Kornieck were named the CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, for the time period of Sept. 30 – Oct. 6.
Klecker, a senior distance runner from Minnetonka, Minn., led the fourth-ranked Buffs to a victory at the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind., last Friday. The two-time All-American and his teammates defeated Ole Miss 71-107 and Klecker recorded a third-place finish at the meet, finishing the 5-mile race in 23:17.83.
Kornieck, a senior from Henderson, Nev., pushed past Nikki Marshall to become Colorado's all-time career points leader after scoring three minutes into Thursday's match against Oregon.
