Kansas has plenty to prove as NCAA's No. 1 overall seed

The last time Kansas was the No. 1 overall seed, in 2010, the Jayhawks were stunned by No. 9 seed Northern Iowa in the second round.

In a tournament that appears to be as open for taking as any in recent memory, can this Kansas team avoid the same ignominious fate?

Colorado fans, of course, hope not. Should the Buffaloes get past Connecticut in the first round, coach Tad Boyle would get a matchup with his alma mater, though he had no desire Sunday to look ahead to such a story line.

"It would be a great opportunity, because it means we would have advanced, but we're not going to put the cart in front of the horse.
