BOULDER – University of Colorado's Julian Hammond III has been named the Pac-12 Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week, for games played Jan. 3-9, the league office announced on Monday.
Hammond is Colorado's second Freshman of the Week this season and third overall for an award just in its third year of existence. K.J. Simpson received the honor back on Nov. 29, 2021. Jabari Walker earned the initial Buffaloes honor, on Jan. 18, 2021.
A 6-foot-3, 181-pound guard from Denver, Hammond played a key role off the bench in Colorado's Pac-12 wins over Washington and Washington State last week, averaging 8.
