Mark Johnson, who has been the voice of Colorado football and basketball for 13 years, will continue in that role, despite being dismissed by KOA radio on Monday.
The sports director at KOA for the past 13 years, Johnson was a budget-cutting casualty from the station. However, more than a year ago, Johnson's contract was split between KOA and Learfield Communications, which holds CU's broadcasting rights.
Because of that split, Johnson's role with Learfield will not change, and he said he will still be in the booth with Gary Barnett for CU football games and courtside with Scott Wilke for CU men's basketball games.
