Colorado hasn’t named a new football coach since firing Mike MacIntyre a few weeks ago, and after seven demoralizing defeats in a row to close the season, the Buffs won’t be bowling for a second straight year.
But amid the adversity and uncertainty about the future, Boulder still has the Flatirons, historic Folsom Field, top-notch facilities and a reason for optimism within the program, the Buffs’ in-state recruits noted. That’s why all five said they remain “100 percent” committed to Colorado despite the disaster that was the second half of 2018.
“It sucks how everything went down with Coach Mac, seeing as he was the one who recruited me, and it was disappointing how this season had a way of falling off the tracks,” said Highlands Ranch senior lineman Austin Johnson.
