BOULDER — University of Colorado senior Kirsty Hodgkins has been invited to play at the 120th U.S. Women's Amateur, August 3-9, at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.
Hodgkins, a native of Brisbane, Australia, is one of 132 players in the prestigious field which contains 13 USGA Champions. The field is comprised entirely of exempt players due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Normally they have qualifying across the country, and she would have had a very good chance at that. Now they just have limited it to selection, the best players in the world, and she was fortunate enough to get a spot," Colorado head coach Anne Kelly said.
