Hagan Promoted To Running Backs Coach; Staff Retooled

BOULDER — Darian Hagan, the quarterback who led the University of Colorado to the 1990 national championship and three Big Eight Conference titles, has been named running backs coach, head football coach Mike MacIntyre announced Saturday.

It will be Hagan’s second stint as an assistant coach, as Gary Barnett named him as an offensive assistant, working with skill position players in 2005, and he was one of two coaches retained by Dan Hawkins when he took over as head coach in 2006. He was in that role through the 2010 season, but when Jon Embree was named head coach in 2011, Hagan moved into the director of player personnel position, and in three seasons under MacIntyre, he has served as the director of player development.
