PALO ALTO, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team essentially held its ground in the final round here Saturday, slipping one spot into a tie for 11th place as Stanford's "The Goodwin" came to a close.
Colorado, ranked No. 74 by Golfweek, cooled off a little from its second round performance in finishing with an 8-over 288 score in the third and final round. That gave the Buffaloes a 22-over 862 overall score for 54 holes, tying for 11th with Denver. The four CU scorers were plus-7 on the front side (the team's second nine of the day), after leading the field on that nine the day before (6-under); the par-3 4th hole caused the most damage, accounting for six of that seven-stroke overage.
