PALM DESERT, Calif. — The University of Colorado men's golf team slipped two spots into ninth place here Saturday in the 16th annual Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, as scores were significantly higher in the second round.
No. 19 Auburn turned in the best score in the second round, a 5-under 283, to take over the lead with a 563 (13-under) team score. No. 50 Charlotte remained in place, three out of the lead at 566, while Boise State (573), Denver (574) and North Texas (575) make up the rest of the top five.
The Buffaloes, ranked No. 82 in the nation, were tied for seventh entering the day but slipped into ninth after posting a 5-over 293 in the second round and 6-over 582 through 36 holes.
